Learn about our approaches to therapy

At Mindful Mind Therapy, we believe healing happens through connection, curiosity, and compassion. Each person’s story is unique, so our therapists draw from a variety of evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches to support you in a way that feels grounded and personal.

  • ACT helps you build a more flexible relationship with your thoughts and emotions. Instead of fighting or avoiding discomfort, we work on helping you move toward what truly matters—living with more presence, purpose, and self-compassion.

  • Brainspotting is a powerful, body-based therapy that helps access and process emotions and memories that may be stuck beneath the surface. By gently engaging the brain’s natural healing mechanisms, it can help release trauma, anxiety, and emotional tension.

  • CBT focuses on understanding how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns and learn practical tools to shift them, supporting real, sustainable change.

  • We honor the impact of identity, culture, and lived experience in the healing process. A decolonized approach means challenging systems of harm, acknowledging historical and generational trauma, and centering care that feels authentic, inclusive, and empowering to you.

  • Mindfulness invites you to slow down and reconnect with the present moment. Through guided awareness and grounding techniques, you’ll learn to respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity and calm.

  • Rooted in empathy and genuine connection, this approach centers you as the expert of your own life. Your therapist provides a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely, fostering growth and self-understanding at your own pace.

  • Somatic Experiencing is a body-based therapy that helps you process stress and trauma by tuning into physical sensations, rather than relying only on talking. By gently working with the nervous system, it supports the release of stored tension and helps restore a sense of safety, balance, and connection within your body.

  • Our therapists approach all sessions with sensitivity and respect for your lived experiences. We prioritize emotional safety, trust, and empowerment—recognizing that healing cannot happen without feeling secure and seen.

Therapy for Challenging Times

It’s okay to admit when life feels like too much to handle.

Life can be overwhelming, and at times, the weight of anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma can make even the simplest moments feel exhausting. You might feel like you’re carrying something so heavy, wondering if anyone else feels the same. If the weight is this intense, why can’t others see it? Why does it feel like you’re moving through the world unseen, even when your emotions are so loud inside you? But you don’t have to stay stuck in that place. With self-awareness, a deeper understanding of your thoughts and emotions, and the right coping tools, you can navigate your feelings in a way that aligns with your true self. We’re here to support you in rediscovering your sense of balance… so you can feel like you again.

Therapy for Moms

Real talk: motherhood is tough.

It can be beautiful, but it also stretches you in ways you never expected. Some days, it might feel like you’re carrying more than you can hold… juggling exhaustion, uncertainty, and emotions you didn’t see coming. You might wonder if anyone else feels this way or if you should be handling it differently. You may find yourself questioning if you’re doing enough, if you’re doing it right, or why no one warned you just how intense this journey would be. The pressure to meet everyone’s needs while trying to hold onto your own sense of self can feel relentless. But you don’t have to go through it alone. With the right support, these challenges can feel more manageable, and that’s something our providers are deeply passionate about.

Prenatal, Pregnancy and Postpartum

Alaa Hojeij is certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International and specializes in helping mothers navigate the emotional shifts that come with this journey.

Even the smallest tasks, like packing the diaper bag, can feel overwhelming. You might find yourself endlessly researching every little thing: chasing reassurance but never quite feeling at ease. The weight of responsibility can be so heavy, yet at the same time, you may feel invisible, like no one truly sees what you're carrying.

If you're navigating your new identity as a mom, struggling with anxiety or depression, having scary thoughts, or simply just need a space to figure out what you're feeling, we’re here to support you.

Learn to thrive as your most authentic self

Living with ADHD can feel like a roller coaster… bursting with ideas one moment, struggling to focus the next. Some days, you’re energized and unstoppable; other days, even simple tasks feel overwhelming. Deadlines sneak up, conversations blur, and no matter how hard you try, it can feel like you’re always playing catch-up. The world isn’t always built for the way your brain works, and that can be frustrating.

Our providers help you understand how your brain works, so instead of fighting against it, you can learn to work with it. Together, we’ll focus on embracing your creativity, resilience, and unique way of thinking while developing tools to navigate the struggles. Whether it’s managing time, regulating emotions, or simply feeling seen in a world that doesn’t always get it, we’re here to support you in harnessing what makes you you… and using it to your greatest advantage.
